Don't Hold Impracticable Expectation on CCNP Certificate

Many people that participate in the CCNP exam with unpractical expectations often end in failure. A lot of candidates will hold the following expectations:

To be a CCNP is the only way for me to work in the IT industry;
CCNP certification is my golden key to success;
to be a CCNP means to get my ideal job;
to be a CCNP is a game rule of IT industry;
to be a CCNP is so benifical......

Does CCNP certification really play a such big role? Maybe such unrealisitic expectations are results from the misunderstanding of certification.

In fact, the certification exams, for example the Cisco 642-812, are used for checking candidates about knowledge of certain software, logical thinking ability and the ability to solve the problems, but almost of the customers and the employers hope candidates have rich experience and skills. But a certificate exam certainly will not increase your practical experience.

Besides, 642-812 is mainly about the technical skills while you would not success in the IT industry rely solely on your skills. So, if you want to get the big success in IT industy, you not only need to master certain skills, but also need many other knowledges, such as interpersonal relationship, negotiation skills, teamwork, etc.

All in all, you should consider clearly and then to register for the certification and you must make ensure that you have enough time and resources to finish the test. You can obtain the useful experiences from the mass media, the internet, or even from your leader.
